School Site Council Parent Election:

The purpose of the School Site Council is to:

1)  Assess the needs of students and use data to set goals.

2)  Gather information from the school's ELAC Committee and other advisory groups at the school to determine the needs of ELL students and other needs of students

3)  Revise the Single Plan for Student Achievement with budgetary allocations.

4)  Evaluate the effectiveness of the school plan

5)  Revise the Home-School Compact and Parent Involvement Guidelines, as needed

6)  Revise the School Site Council By-Laws, as needed

Meetings are generally held on the First Tuesdays of each month in the Library from 2:30 - 3:30PM.


ELAC Meeting/Family Read-Ins:

The purpose of the ELAC is to advise the principal and school staff on programs and services for English learners and the School Site Council (SSC) on the development of the Single School Plan for Student Achievement.  Meetings are generally held on the First Tuesdays of each month in the MPR from 8:15 - 9:15AM.


After School Programs

WRAP/YMCA Program:

The Long Beach Unified School District offers After School Programs on-site at some schools.  Roosevelt's after school program is operated by the YMCA after school until 6:00pm.  The program offers homework help, healthy snacks, and academic enrichment.  For additional information, please contact the school and speak to the After School Program Site Director.

Boys and Girls Club After School Program:

The Boys & Girls Club will run an after-school program at King Park for all grade levels until 6:00p.m. Pick up available from our new site. Contact Keith at 562 599-2916 or 562 685-6878 for more information.
